  What is IB?

  IB是什么?

  IBO stands for International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and is commonly referred to as IB. The IB provides a curriculum continuum for students aged 3-19. IB programmes challenge students to excel in their studies, and encourages both personal and academic achievement. IB Diploma programme students obtain a university entrance qualification that gives access to universities around the world.

  IBO即国际文凭组织(International Baccalaureate Organisation),简称IB,为全球学生开设从幼儿园到大学预科的课程,为3-19岁的学生提供智力,情感,个人发展,社会技能等方面的一贯制教育,使其获得学习,工作以及生存于世的各项能力。修读完IB大学预科的学生将获得大学入学资格,并进入世界各地的大学。

  IB offers four programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP). Programmes at all stages focus on developing students' international perspectives.

  整个IB的课程分为四个阶段:小学项目(PYP)、中学项目(MYP)、大学预科项目(DP)和IB职业相关课程(CP),各阶段课程均注重培养学生的国际视野。

  The IB curriculum is not based on the curriculum system of any single country in the world, rather it is a self-contained educational system. It has adopted the advantages of mainstream curriculum systems in many developed countries and allows for coverage of the core content of national curriculum systems. Therefore, the IB curriculum system is not only compatible with mainstream education curriculum systems in many countries, but also unique under the development of its own educational philosophy. The International Baccalaureate (IB), and the Diploma Programme (DP) in particular, enjoys a high level of respect and recognition among the world’s higher education institutions.

  IB课程不以世界上任何一个国家的课程体系为基础而自成体系,广泛吸收了当代许多发达国家主流课程体系的优点,涵盖了其主要的核心内容。因此IB课程体系即具有与世界各国主流教育课程体系之间的兼容性,又有自己教育理念发展下的独特性。IB学生特别是IBDP毕业的学生未来可以去到北美读本科也可以去英联邦或者其他欧洲国家读本科,选择范围较广。

  IB education is considered "mature international quality education" in the world. Senior experts state that the international education advocated by IB is not the same as "Western" or "European-style" education. True international education must, while respecting the nature of students' learning, train students to be lifelong learners who are able to create beauty, actively face problems, and understand love.

  In the Primary School, crucial to student learning and development is the utilization of the IB Primary Years Programme, a framework for our education which meets the highest of international education standards. As an inquiry-based programme, the Primary School will ensure that individual subject areas are strong and challenging, helping students make connections between each subject area. Our programme is well-placed to help students apply their knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding in real-world situations.

  Secondary School

  ISA Science City aims to provide the final two core programs of the International Baccalaureate. For Grades 6-10, all student will undertake a rigorous programme of study across the eight subject areas mandated within the IB Middle Years Programme. In Grades 11 and 12, our students will undertake the most globally recognized programme of study, as we aim to provide the IB Diploma Programme, which is recognized internationally for its' rigor, the breath of course requirements, as well as the standard of thinking and learning that is required by each successful student. It is in part because of this, that universities and colleges around the world value students who have completed the IB Diploma, often fast-tracking their entry.
